Panoramica
Hovercraft for logistic support
Capable of traveling at high speeds over a variety of surfaces, the 8100TD is favored by military, paramilitary and naval forces as a means of logistical / operational support and can also be configured for passenger ferry services.
- At 22.5m by 11m the Griffon 8100TD is a fully amphibious hovercraft capable of carrying up to 70 passengers plus two crew members.
- This vessel can accommodate a light armored vehicle or a 20-foot ISO container as part of its 12-ton payload.
- Its unique design allows for many superstructure options with the same standard hull and machinery installation.
- The boat is powered by two 630 kW (840 hp) water-cooled Iveco diesel engines and has a marine grade aluminum hull.
- The boat is equipped with removable side shelves, in aluminum alloy, which allows to reduce the width for transport by sea, if necessary. Normally the boat is transported fully assembled. The side platforms provide a working platform surface along both sides of the hull.
- The loop is made of neoprene on nylon fabric and the segments are made of nylon fabric covered in natural rubber. All components of the skirt are accessible and interchangeable from the outside, on the ground, without having to attack the boat.
The 8100TD was initially designed for the Swedish Amphibious Brigade, which relies on the ship to deliver a unique year-round capability, including access to frozen regions beyond the reach of their conventional amphibious resources.
